The Loudest Voice is a Showtime limited series chronicling the rise and fall of Roger Ailes and the creation of Fox News. The campaign required a visual identity capable of conveying the show’s political weight and psychological complexity — without sensationalism.
The creative needed to feel restrained yet unsettling, reflecting the scale of media influence and the power dynamics at the heart of the story.
Role: Art Director
Responsibilities:
Developed the campaign’s visual concept and overall look and feel
Collaborated on shot lists and visual references for the photo shoot
Translated final photography into key art, out-of-home, digital, and print assets
Ensured a cohesive, impactful campaign aligned with SHOWTIME’s brand and audience
The creative direction centered on media power and influence. The key art features Russell Crowe as Roger Ailes framed against a wall of television screens — a visual metaphor for the omnipresence and reach of Fox News.
The composition was intentionally controlled and confrontational, using scale, repetition, and negative space to reflect themes of manipulation, authority, and psychological dominance embedded in the narrative.
Partnering closely with photographer Jim Fiscus, I helped plan the photo shoot through detailed shot lists and visual references. A custom television backdrop was developed in collaboration with a 3D artist, allowing the environment itself to become a storytelling device.
From there, I designed the campaign’s visual system and extended it across out-of-home, digital, and print placements — ensuring consistency, clarity, and impact across platforms.
