Role: Art Director

brief

For Season 8 of Shameless, the campaign introduced a Western-inspired creative direction to differentiate the series from previous seasons. The challenge was to reinterpret classic Western iconography through the show's distinctly irreverent lens, creating a campaign that felt fresh while remaining true to the Gallaghers' chaotic, rebellious spirit.

solution

I led art direction from concept through rollout, establishing a visual system that merged Western genre conventions with Shameless' signature humor and attitude. A custom title treatment, bold typography, graphic iconography, and cinematic compositions helped create a world that felt inspired by classic Westerns without becoming a parody of them.

Rather than playing the theme straight, the campaign leaned into irony and character, positioning the Gallaghers as modern-day outlaws. The result was a distinctive seasonal identity that felt both unexpected and authentically Shameless.

The Gallaghers as outlaws.
